OSARECOMPANY will announce the new uniform for Kyoto Meitoku High School, the 14th school to implement「O.C.S.D」, which is a collaboration between OSARECOMPANY Inc. (Chiyoda-ku Tokyo, CEO Kazuki Uchimura, referred to as “OSARECOMPANY” below) and Akashi School Uniform Company Ltd. (Kurashiki-shi Okayama, CEO Hidefumi Kawai, referred to as “AKASHI S.U.C.” below).
■What is School Uniform Brand「O.C.S.D.」?
「O.C.S.D.」is an abbreviation for OSARECOMPANY SCHOOL DESIGN where OSARECOMPANY, which handles costume production, styling, and hair&makeup of the AKB48 Group collaborates with AKASHI S.U.C., which is a major school uniform company entering its 153rd year in 2018, to create school uniforms.
This brand, created in 2016, has been implemented in many schools since then and will be implemented in 6 new schools starting Spring 2019 (making a total of 15 schools).
■The school color, burgundy, is seen under the sun light…!? The new uniform for Kyoto Meitoku High School bursts with originality
Kyoto Meitoku High School aims for「Japan’s No.1 Education Institute to Create Working People」through the mission of「creating ease for others」. ICT usage is incorporated in all classes and the school puts much effort in providing active learning classes and career education.
The school is also known for its strong dance team「M’s E Crew」, which has won many world titles in street dance.
Kyoto Meitoku High School is the 14th school to implement「O.C.S.D.」. The new uniform, which will be worn starting from April 2019, has an innovative blazer style that uses burgundy, the school color, as an accent. The jackets from both boys and girls uses 4 different colored strings woven together, which makes the burgundy stand out in sun light.
The diagonal change in the chest area creates a sharp design. There are 3 types of skirts and the burgundy check pattern is the formal wear. Students may enjoy different variations by combining ties and ribbons.

Reason why the uniform was changed.
The reason was that “now” was the time that all students will come together in the new uniform when the school celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2021. We will all take a new step forward together for the next 100 years to come with the 100 years of tradition in our hearts.

We yearned for an original「design・feature・commitment」in the uniform-making process.
Uniforms are worn every day. We would like for students to enjoy wearing what other high schoolers wear with no particular feelings. We want these uniforms to put a smile on the students’ faces. The knit material of the shirt is very different from what I’m used to wearing so that was very unique. The blazer material is also very rare! The red checkered pattern skirt is very cute and resembles AKB48 costumes. Cute uniforms are an important factor in choosing which school to attend.
I joined AKB48 in 6th grade and have been told by my senpais that “the 3 years in high school will go by quickly”. These past 2 years have, indeed, passed very quickly. I would like all new students wearing this uniform to enjoy their 3 years in high school and have fun.
